This website is operated by Kate Chidley, and independent artist in the UK. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Kate Chidley. Kate Chidley offers this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

Personal information we collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Cookies

– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Paypal address, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

When you subscribe to my mailing list, we collect your email address, and occasionally your first name where necessary, in order to send you updates on the latest launches, sales and products. We will not use this information for any other purpose.

If you leave a comment on my site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

 

How do we use your personal information?

We use the Order Information that we collect to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
Communicate with you;
Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;
Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services (when in line with the preferences you have shared with us).

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Comments

When you leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your personal information with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. N.B: “Third Parties” are only ever programmes or websites used to help run our business, such as Google Analytics, PayPal, Stripe or Applepay (depending on your chosen payment method), or Royal Mail or Evri (in order to generate shipping labels for our parcels) Your data is never ‘sold’ to anyone for our gain, or passed on for any third party to use for their own marketing purposes.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

How long we retain your personal information

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records indefinitely, unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

If you register on my website, we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (although you will not be able to change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

If you have an account on my site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
